Areas of expertise
My research focus is on food web dynamics (with a focus on plankton and microbial communities) in aquatic systems and its dependency on environmental conditions. Study systems range from little pond systems to lakes, from local communities to meta-communities and meta-ecosystems. My aim is to advance theoretical concepts in aquatic ecology for a better understanding of biological processes using differential equation systems and adressing questions related to e.g. food web structure, adaptive traits, habitat connectivity.
