Areas of expertise
I am a Professor at the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, Paris, France I work on the diversity, role and evolution of microorganisms at the interface between hosts and their environment, in particular on how microbial symbionts contribute to host acclimatization and adaptation to stress. My models include teleost fish microbiomes, cyanobacteria and associated phycosphere, and chemosynthetic bacteria asociated with metazoans. Investigated stress include those associated with natural extreme habitats (hydrothermal vents, cold seeps, reducing habitats, high latitudes, depths...) as well as anthropogenic-related stress (eutrophication, pollutants...).
