Areas of expertise
Recognizing how speciation and extinction have both shaped the evolution of different plant groups is a question that has greatly influenced the development of my career and of my research outcomes. Because evolutionary questions are usually quite complex, I generally apply a broad array of techniques to make inferences about the evolution of lineages, plant-pollinator interactions and breeding systems. I have a particular interest on the role of hybridization and polyploidy on species diversification.
