Areas of expertise
I did my bachelor in Biology at the Universidade de São Paulo (Brazil) and my Master and PhD in Vegetation Ecology at the Technische Universität München (Germany), studying mainly the effects of fire on subtropical grasslands. I also had a post-doc position at the Universidade de São Paulo (Brazil), with a project about the fire effects on plant community and structure in tropical wet grasslands, and at the Universidad de Alicante (Spain) working on comparisons between flammable ecosystems. Currently, I am an assistant professor at the Universidade Estadual Paulista (Brazil), and my research interests are tropical grasslands and savannas, fire ecology, above and belowground carbon dynamics, seed ecology and community ecology.
