Areas of expertise
I obtained my degree in Biology at the University of Bologna in 1998. During my Post-degree training I spent one semester at the Herbarium of Bologna and the second at Ambiental S.L. company (environmental management) in Murcia (Spain) with a grant from the EU Programme “Leonardo da Vinci”. I then returned to Italy and obtained my Ph.D. in 2003 at University of Firenze, with a thesis on the reproductive biology and pollination ecology of Leguminosae-Cytiseae. The year after I got a post-doctoral grant to continue the investigations on legumes' pollination. In 2005 I became Researcher and since 2016 I am Associate Professor in Systematic Botany at the Dept. BiGeA, University of Bologna. My research focuses on reproductive ecology of wild plant species, with special emphasis on plant-pollinator relationships, rare/endangered species and conservation strategies.
