Areas of expertise
I studied Biology at the Univ of Barcelona and obtained my PhD at the University of Pennsylvania. My thesis subject was on the interactions between seed predators and dispersers in a tropical dry forest in Costa Rica. I returned to Spain and worked as a postdoc at the Doñana Biological Station and from there I moved to Mallorca where I work investigating the effects of different drivers of global change (specifically, invasive species, habitat loss, climate change) on species interactions, mainly mutualistic ones such as pollination and seed dispersal. Most of my work is on island systems although I also participate in mainland projects. Recently I have begun a project on food webs in small islands in different archipelagos of the world.
