I am broadly interested in processes that shape the life histories of individuals and the dynamics of populations and entire communities. My main focus is on aquatic habitats. I have studied mathematical modelling at the Czech Technical University in Prague, CZ, and I did post-docs with Prof. Andre de Roos (University of Amsterdam, NL) and Prof. Mikko Heino (Institute of Marine Research, Bergen, NO) focusing on populations dynamics and eco-evolutionary feedbacks in structured populations.

I currently combine experimental and statistical approaches with mathematical models to understand the effects of anthropogenic stressors such as climate change on individuals, species interactions and entire communities. My group currently focuses on insects and other invertebrates in small standing freshwater bodies in Central Europe, and I also collaborate on research studying environmental trends and human impacts on fish communities in freshwater reservoirs.
